Thank You

I want to thank every one for the suggestions for my crazy climbing son:) After a hellish night Friday, where Graham climbed out of his crib 50 million times and I got no sleep. I went to Baby Depot and I purchased one of the net tents the goes over the crib and it works wonderfully. He doesn't even hate it and he is back to sleeping like a normal person, PHEWWWWW! Next project to tackle is the binki removal. I am not quite ready to take this one on yet, but will be soon:)

I have been working on some knitting projects and an embroidery project. I will take some pictures in the next day or so. I will also be adding some vintage sheet fat quarter packets to the shoppe after I get some good photos!

Have a great day!

Friday Flea Market

It has been a while since I posted about Friday Flea Market. So here are the deals for this week. All Christmas items are half price, and can be found here.

I will try to add some more items later today!

My Son

First of all BOYS are so crazy different from girls it is not even funny. My girls never did any of this stuff! Graham started the day earlier than usual, because he remembered he could climb out of his crib! So out he came at about 7am, which is about an hour and a half to two hours early for him. So we snuggled and watched a show for a bit. Then he gets down and me being the dumby that I am think he is going to go play with his cars, NOPE. He went into the kitchen pushed a chair up to the counter and I hear the lid of the candy dish, cluing me in that he is not playing cars. So I run in there and get him down before he eats the whole jar of candy. The rest of the morning went fine until it was time to get ready to go to the grocery store. I use to stick him in his crib so I could get ready, but clearly that is not an option, so I turned on a show and gave him a snack. He stayed put for a few minutes and then was in my room driving me crazy while I was getting ready. He likes to climb on our bed and do somersaults and jump like he is on the trampoline. So, I tried putting him in the crib, that lasted all of two seconds and there he was again. UGGGGGG

I finally got him to sit and watch a show so I could quickly dress and put mascara on. Once I was done I asked him to go get his shoes, coat and hat. It was taking a really long time, so I went in his room to see what he was doing? He was standing on his changing table, ahhhhhhhh. We eventually got out the door and to the store. He has to ride in the cart that is a car, so we get all settled in, this car is high off the ground which is good. However the seat belt tightener thingy was stuck so I could not get it tight enough. Which caused major problems half way through the store. He started to climb out of the seat belt and was leaning over the edge trying to reach things in the isles and in my cart. I had to force him to sit down while he was screaming and flailing about, I am sure people were staring and thinking terrible things. Needless to say the grocery store was not fun, because he was clearly ready for a nap.

We get home he has some milk and I put him down for a nap. HA For about a half hour, I put him down he climbed out. So finally I sat in the rocker in his room and waited until he fell asleep. He is now peacefully sleeping!

So I need help: The crib is at the lowest setting. He is not ready for a toddler bed, he would never sleep, plus I am not ready for him to have free roam of the house. When the girls were little and in toddler beds, I gated the door to their rooms so they could not roam around with out me knowing. This will not work for Mr. Monsterpie, he would just climb over. I am wondering if the crib tents work? Or will he just chew a hole through it? I would love some suggestions:)

Here he is in the snow with his car.

Yes, that is my son in the pink snow pants. I'm sure he will love that when he is older!!

I am trying to figure out how I am going to deal with this crazy boy and a baby. YIKES!

Have a great day!

Winter Time Blues

Well, I have a stinking cold and as you probably know you can not take anything for it while you are pregnant! Graham is also sick and kept me up most of the night. He ended up sleeping in my bed for half of the night and that seemed to help. Chad is in Canada for work so I was not squished on the edge of the bed while the dudes hogged the rest:) The down side is I am on my own with the kids all week.

Yesterday, the girls were home as it was a holiday and they are home AGAIN today because it snowed last night and school was canceled. No, we are not snowed in, there is maybe an inch on the ground and it is still lightly snowing. The girls dragged the snow clothes down from the attic and are bundling up to go out and play. Super exciting for these CA girls. Gabby is having to wear my snow gear, fortunately I was pretty thin when I bought the pants, they are still a bit big, but better than nothing. I bundled Graham up in the PINK snow pants and let him play a bit too. I don't have any boy snow gear:(

I put Graham back in his bed around 6:30 this am and around 8:30 he was hollering for me. So, I said just a minute and laid there for a second more. All of the sudden there he was standing in my room saying HI mama. I then asked the girls if they got him out of bed and they did not, so the little turkey climbed out of his crib. Now what the heck am I going to do with him!

The girls and I watched the inauguration, I am not sure how much of it they understood, but still an important event. I wasn't sure what else to say about this event, but April stated perfectly how I am feeling, so read her post.

Have a great day!

Sometimes it Pays

We are diet soda drinkers, and about two months ago we bought a 12 pack of diet wild cherry Pepsi. We drank a few of the sodas and then we pulled out one and the can was only about 3/4 full. So it sat on the kitchen counter for months waiting for one of us to take it back to the store. A week or two ago I got tired of looking at it and put it in my car and there it sat. Until today when I finally remembered to throw it into my purse before going into the store.

I got my groceries and went to the check out counter, of course I got the old lady checker who if you want something out of the norm, she has no idea what to do. Right before paying I show her the can and she directs me to customer service with a look of total confusion. I pay and head over to customer service, the young guy was so surprised by me bringing in one can of soda, he literally turned the can around and around for about 5 minutes looking amazed. I finally had to ask him if I could get a refund for the damaged can. He says" but we don't see just one can." I say" I realize that, but I bought a 12 pack and this one was damaged." He picks up the phone to call some unseen manager and then says "I can give you a new 12 pack" and then he runs off and gets me a new 12 pack.

So, it was worth the months of staring at a can of diet Pepsi and driving around with it in my car. Woo Hoo, I got a free 12 pack!!!

Have a great weekend!

Snow Flakes and Sparkles Swap

Yes, I am finally blogging about the last swap I completed in December! Holly was the hostess for this swap and my partner was Melissa. We had such fun getting to know each other. Melissa has four girls and two of the four are the same ages as my girls so we decided to let the girls swap too. My girls loved it, they each made something for their partner and made a sweet card.

On to the pictures!

She sent me this vintage sweater clip, it is so pretty! I LOVE IT!

Melissa made me these darling Christmas towels, I love that they look like ticking.

She also made this lovely heirloom baby blanket, my first gift for this baby. Can't wait to use it, it is so pretty.

All the other goodies she sent me.

Gwen with the purse her partner made her.

They made graham a bag too so he wouldn't feel left out. He carries all his hot wheels around in it every day!

Gab's darling purse from her partner. I was so impressed that a 11 year old made this!

A vintage sheet music ornament I made for Melissa.

All of the goodies I sent her. I made the tree and the dove and in the clear bag, I made vintage feedsac magnets.

Items from the girls to their partners. Gwen made the dog and gabby knitted a neck warmer for her partner. We also made homemade marshmallows.

We all had so much fun with this swap!

Checking In

It has been awhile again, we have been busy and my son broke my laptop cord. Yep, destructo boy strikes again. The new cord should be here later today, thank goodness. I have been using Chad's dinosaur laptop where it takes forever to do anything.

I still have Christmas deco all over my living room, I worked on it yesterday while Graham was napping and will again today. It is so fun to put up and soooooo not fun to put away. I am trying to organize it better which is also taking longer. Wish me luck.

I am happy to report that the all day "morning sickness" has subsided in the last couple of days. Phew.

Still reading Atlas Shrugged. Chad is almost done with his second book, since I have been reading it. I am on page 370ish, and yes I am still reading ever night. It has two times the words on one page as a normal book. Sheesh

WOOO HOOO, my cord just arrived! I can switch to my computer and maybe add a photo!

I need suggestions, we can not think of a girl name starting with a "G" that we both like. Chad thinks we need to do a different letter if it is a girl since we can not come up with a good name and do a "G" middle name. What do you think? We have a few "G" boy names that we like so that is good. However hubby thinks it is going to be a girl. We should find out the beginning of March. Can't wait. I really like Grace or any version of Grace, Chad doesn't because we had a cat named Gracie. Also to consider is our boring last name- SMITH. The first name has to be something interesting. The other three for those of you who don't know are: Gabrielle, Gwendolyn and Graham.

Over the weekend we took Graham to the zoo for his birthday. We had a great time. The animals were pretty active because it was sunny.

I have received a couple of blog awards from my friends Priscila and Melissa, thank you girls, I will have to work on giving them to others:) Speaking of Melissa, we did a swap in December that I will be posting about later this week.

My friend Alicia who I have been friends with since I was 4 or 5, placed a custom order. Here is her order. The little knitted hat was a gift from me for her little man.

Partners were assigned for the Valentine swap, hope everyone is enjoying getting to know their partners. Mail date is January 29th. If anyone has any questions please let me know.

My Baby Boy is Two Today!!

Wow, it seems like just yesterday I was pregnant with Graham. I can't believe he is two! He had his two year check up toady and weighed in at 32lbs and 37.5"tall. Big boy~

Here he is laying on his changing table loving the cat.
He hangs off the end, he is so long. He got a potty chair for his bday. we are hoping to have him well on his way by the time the baby arrives.

Poor COCO!

I took all of these today!
Here he is with his new Elmo, from Aunt Lori and Uncle Eckart.

He celebrated yesterday with his friends at preschool, and tonight we are having cake and presents. If the weather permits we want to take him to the zoo this weekend.

170

That was the babies heart beat at my Dr.'s apt today. Hearing that first heart beat is so exciting, makes all the queasiness worth it. My midwife said everything looks great. 9 more weeks and we can find out what the gender is. Can't wait! I am thinking we will take the girls with us for that apt so they can see the sonogram and be there to learn if they are getting a brother or a sister.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

XOXO Jen
