Pregnancy Thoughts

It is so weird to think that this is the last time I will be pregnant EVER. I am trying to really enjoy the pregnancy part because it is the last time. It is also the Last time I will give birth, pretty ok with that though. Labor is not my favorite, even though I am pretty lucky and have had shortish labors. AND yes, I do remember how painful it is, "they" say "you forget" HA HA. "They" must have been a man.

My lovely daughters have informed me that my BUTT is huge... thanks daughters. Such a confidence booster.

I am not a big drinker, but when I am pregnant I crave wine & margaritas. I think it is because I can not have it that I want it more!

Being pregnant when you are 23 is very different from when you are 35. At 23 you just get pregnant and have a baby, no worries. At 35 you TRY to get pregnant then worry about all the horrid things that can happen to your baby because the chances of problems are so much higher. Actually we had a much easier time getting pregnant this time than with Graham, and his labor was the worst (so far), should have been a clue.
Belly shot taken moments ago.
I took it myself with the old stretch out arm technique, everyone else is in bed!

As I was putting up my ester decorations I was thinking about how at Halloween I was making all kinds of fun new decorations. Not for Easter... all crafting/sewing is devoted to baby projects. I am actually going to make her crib bedding and am excited about it. the fabric is picked out and ordered.

Sneezing requires you to completely stop what you are doing and clench your muscles so you don't tinkle in your pants.

You take for granted how easy it use to be to roll over in bed. Now, I have to do a three point turn just to roll over in bed,

I do love the fact that I actually have boobs when I am pregnant. I am sure they will be really lovely after breastfeeding four babies:( Worth it though.

Not sure how I am going to survive while in labor without a room full of my family and friends.
8 to 10 of them not including the Dr. and nurses. Who is going to hold my legs, and coach me through.

I guess this will be the only baby that will be delivered completely by the midwife. My mom got to help with the girls and my sis pretty much delivered Graham with the Dr's assistance. Afterward she said "that was fun." I said "glad it was fun for YOU!" I asked Chad if he would catch this one and he said "uuuuuh not sure if I am prepared for that." BTW- my sis and mom are not in the medical field, they just wanted to catch the babies.

I too would like to catch one or at least see one be born. I was supposed to see my nephew be born and he decided to be difficult and my sis had to have an emergency C-section. Maybe next time!

I know there were a couple of other things I wanted to mention, alas my pregnant brain can not remember them.

Easter Decorations

Here are a few photos of my favorite Easter Decorations.

I got this pink tree at Christmas time for 75% off at Hobby Lobby and could not pass it up. I also used it for a Valentine tree. I love the vintage bunnies sitting under the tree. This is in the kitchen and amazingly Graham has yet to touch it.

Close up. I got these vintage hats at a yard sale in Napa and never used them because I didn't decorate for Easter last year with unpacking. They are made from vintage nut cups, soo cute.

The ever famous printers box.

My little collection of vintage looking bunnies, they look so pretty against the pink wall.

A couple of bunnies tucked in with my goodies.

Last but not least is my front door wreath. I got it last year after easter for 75% off. I love it! I had to add the ribbon to hang it because there was no hanging device.

Hope you enjoyed the decorations.

Gwen's Birthday Celebration

Sorry for the long absence my good friend and her daughter arrived from CA Friday night. Her daughter is Gwen's best friend, and they arrived on her birthday, she was soooo happy. Saturday we spent the day hanging out and visiting while the girls played. That evening we took my aspiring chef to Fire and Sticks for dinner. It is like benihanahs however you spell it. After dinner we went to the movies.

Girls before dinner.

Gwen was so cute during dinner, she shushed me and her friend when we tried to talk to her. I'm surprised she even breathed while he was cooking she was so enthralled. SO CUTE. She finally ate after he was done cooking. The food was yummy.

Sunday we went to the park and then ate ice cream cones on the porch while the girls played outside. Monday, Gwen skipped school and we took the girls to Artquest in a local museum. They painted, sculpted, drew and had so much fun. Tuesday AM I drove them to the airport.

Gwen is still sad and missing her friend, at the same time trying to earn money for a plane ticket so she can go visit.

It was a great birthday weekend!

Book Review

It has been awhile since I did a book review, so today is the day. I have three books and a movie to talk about today.

Book 1- Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer
This is the third book in the twilight series and probably was my least favorite. Don't get me wrong, it was good, just not as good as the others.
Book 2: Breaking dawn also by Stephenie Meyer
The fourth book in the twilight series. I loved this one, I had a hard time putting it down. It was my favorite in the series.

Movie: Twilight
Gabby and I watched this movie Saturday night. It was a good movie, just not nearly as good as the book, and some of the characters were not what I thought they should be. There were a couple of parts that were not even in the book, that always bugs me:)

Book 3: Heart and Soul by Mauve Binchey
She is one of my favorite authors, she tells great stories. If you haven't read any of her book, I would start at the beginning even though they are not a series, they tend to have some characters in common. This book was about the opening of a heart clinic and the peoples lives who worked there. Great Book.

I hope to post some easter decoration pictures in the next few days.

Finished Projects

This will be another short post as I am getting ready for company from CA! Here is the vintage sheet baby quilt I finished. I love it and can't wait to see baby girl laying on it:)

I made this maternity top out of vintage sheets. So many uses for vintage sheets! It is super soft and light weight. It is a bit big right now, as I made it for later when it is super hot and humid here! Maybe once it fits I will model it!

Off to clean and redecorate!

One Year Ago Today...

We arrived in North Carolina after a grooling cross country trip. Leaving our friends, family and the lovely state of CA behind. We miss everyone and CA a lot. We are enjoying experiencing new things while here on the east coast. It will be interesting to see what the next year has in store for us.

Flutters

I am so excited, just this very minute I am feeling baby girl move for the first time! I was panicking because I felt Graham move really early 15ish weeks and I had not felt baby girl yet. There is nothing as amazing as feeling your baby move for the first time, it feels like butterflies.

Have a great night!

We are very excited!

I was not surprised that it was a girl, I have felt from the very beginning that this baby was a girl. Now to come up with a name.

Here she is.

More Quilting

I have been on a huge quilt kick! I am finishing up the binding on the last one and will post a photo of it soon. You can find the tutorial for this one here. I used the moda sweet charm packs, I love this fabric.

Close up. Click on photos to get a better look!

Here is the whole top, it is a baby sized again. Now I need to get some fabric to back it with. I am thinking polka dots:) There is also a very comprehensive quilt a long going on here, I am going to try to do it. We'll see if I have time with company coming and Gwen's bday.
Have a great evening!

Mini Makeover

I decided to work on the main bathroom a bit, because it is an eyesore. Without a total remodel it is still not the best, but I used what I had to make it a bit better. Maybe the cute stuff will detract attention from the hideous avocado green and harvest gold tile.

At our house in Napa our main bath was super shabby chic, pale pink, white and soft blue and green. I loved it! Unfortunately I had to go a different direction with this one for two reasons, one, the hideous tile and two this is the bathroom Graham uses. So I thought I should make it a bit less frou frou. I went with a vintage beach theme.

When we moved in there was no mirror so we used one that we had been using on my bedroom vanity. I bought that oar at an estate sale months ago and it has sat in a corner in the bathroom waiting for hubby to hang it up. I think he was inspired to do it because I made new curtains.
I think the oar looks cute above the mirror. I really want to paint, we'll see if I get a bee in my bonnet.

This is the before of the hideous shade. It has literally been there since 1970 when the house was built. If you click on it to get a closer view, you can see where the fringe was ripped off and they taped the tears with scotch tape. Gab is going through a modest stage and has to have it down to use the bathroom, even though there is no one to see in. The shade made it like a dungeon, beside being UGLY! I can't believe it has taken me a year to do this. SHEESH.

Here is the after. So much better. No exactly what I had in mind, but i used what I had and am happy with the results. It is no longer an dungeoneous eye sore. It makes me more motivated to paint seeing all the white.

Have a wonderful day.

35 & 18

35: Is how old I turned today!

It was an odd day because Gabby stayed home with a stomach ache. Then Gwen came home with one. AGGG
This is also the first birthday with out my friends and family.
On the bright side, my hubby made me a really yummy dinner and eclairs for desert.

18: Is how many weeks pregnant I am.

Monday we will find out if we are adding a girl or a boy to the family!

Here are a couple belly shots from today.

Have a great weekend!

Snow Day

We got a real snow finally, not that I am thrilled to have snow in March. But the kids have been dieing for snow they could sled in. The girls were outside at 8 am this morning. Graham and I went out about 9:30, we had to eat breakfast first. We got about 3-4" so Chad took my car to work today as it is 4 wheel drive and his Acura needs new tires.

You can click on the photos to make them larger.

Gab and Graham Sledding. Graham loved it.

Thank goodness Gab could take him sledding, since it is not a recommended activity for the prego mom.

MY BOY!
Yes, he is wearing the pink pants again and even pink gloves. He doesn't care:)

Girls sledding.
