Made it Monday!!

I have not made much lately... but here are a few knit and crochet projects I have finished.

Knitted Ear warmer... I made it for me... Gab decided it was really cute on her. I have worn it once and Gab has worn it quite a few times. Free Pattern here.

Crochet ear flap hat that Gabby also stole... Pattern I purchased off Ravelry.

Knitted shrug for Scarlette to wear to ballet class. Free pattern here.

Crochet cowl neck warmer... FOR ME... Gab is not allowed to steal this one:)

It is so warm and cozy... Free pattern here.

A crochet scarf actually for Gabby in Napa High Colors.. Pattern found here.

Crochet leg warmers for Scarlette the little ballerina.

These were a free pattern that I deleted because I had to add the ties to keep them up... next pair will be knit for sure.

That is about as craft as I have been lately... better than nothing I suppose.

Photographing myself has been unsuccessful... Bad lighting, mirror too small, wrong lens? IDK... Any tips would be appreciated!!!!!!!! What I realize from doing this is that I can put together decent outfits... the hard part is the outfits being practical for a mama of 4 and all it entails. I am linking up with all the other fashion mavens at the Pleated Poppy.

Due to all of my photo challenges, I have had to enlist photographers....

Made it...

I have actually been working on some projects, so I thought I would share.

Gabby decided she wanted a skirt... So I found a tutorial online for a skirt that we both liked, never easy when dealing with a teen.  Then I went digging through my fabric stash and found a fabric that we both liked. The skirt cost me 0$ :) Because I happen to have everything I needed to complete it.

She loved it and got tons of compliments on it.  I asked her if she told people that her Mom made it and she said "NOOO.. people would think I am a hobo."  I said " no, I am pretty sure they would think you have a cool mom." Not sure what my girls obsession is with people thinking they are hobos. kooks!

Might have to make one for me.... much longer though:)

I bought this fabric 5 years ago:)
I am super proud of my self for this one..  the cutest little sweater for Scarlette Grace. This knitted up super fast.. only took me a week.  I bought the pattern off raverly, would love to make a bigger one for me:)
Another scarf... the bottom edge is ruffly. Not sure who gets this one:)

Lots more projects in the works!

Sew & Tell... & a Bit of Knitting

simply square button

This episode is brought to you from my garage... sitting here selling all my stuff.... sniff sniff.

Not sure why I am so emotional about the whole thing... got sad selling Grahams baby clothes a minute ago! I know none of this is sewing related but a quick story. Bought a vintage aluminum lounge chair with its original pad at a garage sale in CA... LOVED this lounge chair.(Thought I had a picture on my old blog.. can not find it though. It was Sooo comfy! Chad said it needed to go because it was awkward for packing. I sold it to a NICE lady for 5$ got what I paid for it. Almost cried though: because I sat in it all big and prego and felt my last baby kicking in my belly. Maybe I am a little hormonal! Anyway... Chad freaked out when he found out I only sold it for 5$, then proceeded to tell me he would have packed it for that price. EEEK
Gwen just got home and first thing she asked about was the chair!!! WAAA

Ok.... On to the sewing.
I have made a bit of time for some sewing just to keep myself sane. Crafting is good therapy.

I made these for Scarlette... They are baby legs. I used two pairs of socks I got on clearance at target for $2.74. I have seen these on other blogs and the real actual baby legs and thought ... Why would I need these.... then I realized why. Because I hate the way legging look over onesies on babies. I will have to get a picture of princess peach in them.

This is one of the items on my list of projects to make. You can find the link to the tutorial on the side of my blog. It is a crinkly toy for my sweet girl. Love that I made it and it is washable and no lead from CHINA! :)

This is the back of it! It was super quick and easy.

Yes, everything I made was for the little one. I knitted this toadstool rattle for her. It was fairly easy, only a bit annoying with the jingle bell ringing as I knitted.

You can find the tutorial on the side of my blog in the projects I want to make section.

I made these seat belt covers for little girl's car seat straps. Somehow we only had one from when Graham was a baby. I wish I would have made them smaller around... Oh well they do what they are supposed to.... keeps the straps from leaving red marks on her neck.

I have also been working on quilting my two quilts maybe I will be able to share them soon!

Have a great weekend.

Made it Monday

Here are a few photos of things I have made recently.

This is a before and after of sorts. The blue wipe case on the bottom is the one I used for Graham and as you can see it got a lot of use. The black and pink one I made to use in my diaper bag for baby girl. A lot of people sell these wipe cases and I thought about it, but they are just too time consuming. If you want to make one just drop me a note and I can give you instructions, it is not hard.

More baby wash cloths, I had none and now I think I have 8. Still not enough, but better than NONE:)

I made these place mats and napkins for my Grandma for her birthday which was the 1st. She sets her table every day with pretty place mats or table runners, and she has many different sets of dishes. Makes you wonder where I got my collecting gene from!
This pattern was from a book I have, but am not about to lug my pregnant body up the stairs to go get it. If you need to know email me and I will then drag myself upstairs:)

These are the last things I have knit recently, just haven't started anything new yet. The hat is a newborn hat for baby girl it is out of the same cotton as the blanket I knit her. She may not get much use out of it here, because it is so dang hot here, at least in NOR CAL it cooled off in the evenings!

Close up of the Mary Jane booties, these knit up super quick. The pattern for them is in the list of things I want to make on the right side of the blog.

Lots of other UFO's(unfinished objects) laying around right now. Hope to get to a few more of them before baby girl arrives!

It Only Took 14 Weeks.....

To finish this blanket. I started knitting it right after we found out that this baby is a girl. I used a cotton yarn that is super soft and washable. I got the pattern off of knitting pattern central.
See, I really have been knitting. I am making her a matching hat and want to knit her a pair of the mary jane booties, link on the right of the blog.

Chad's response when I showed it to him: "COOL"
That is the response I get after 14 weeks of knitting! SHeesh
Gabby said "it's really pretty."
At least someone liked it.
Maybe it will be baby girls favorite.

A close up of the diamond pattern. I originally couldn't decide between this pattern and a more lacy open one, but Chad had an opinion about that. He like a solid blanket that your toes doesn't get caught in!

Sorry for the bad light, it has been gray and rainy the last two days! Great way to start summer vacation.

A few gifts I have made

Just a quick post before a go sew for a bit before bed!

Here are some pics of gifts I made recently.

One of Chad's co-workers had a baby a few weeks ago and I whipped up this receiving blanket and burp cloth.

One of my very dear friends Melissa is having her baby girl at the end of the month. We have been friends since 7th grade. I'm not going to even count the years up:)
I was in a lavender mood when I started her gift, so I just stuck with it.

Even though I haven't posted about knitting in FOREVER, as you can see I have been knitting. I am trying to finish a knitted baby blanket for baby girl! Hope to have it done sooooon!

That is it for now, I am off to sew strips together for the quilt along.

Melissa,
Chad
