FQ's...On Their Way

Here are all the vintage sheet FQ's packaged up and on their way to the post office.  Sorry they went out later than was posted, I was waiting on a few people.  I did my best to make sure everyone ended up with a nice mixture of prints and prints they did not send.  That being said... if you get a print back that you sent, I am sorry.  There were 545 fq's and 38 participants.  It was interesting to see all the different sheets, so many fun prints I had never seen before.  I noticed that this time round there were lots of yellow, blue and multi prints not too many pink or purple.  I hope you all love what you get back.  Thank you to the ladies that sent me extra FQ's and extra goodies to me, that was super sweet!

I would like to host another swap this summer, so check back often.

Vintage Sheet Fat Quarter Swap-Deux

I am finally settled enough to host another vintage sheet FQ swap. The last one was a ton of fun and so many great FQ's were swapped!
There are sooo many things you can do with vintage sheets, the ideas are endless.

Here is a button to add to your blog.
Right click on it
save it to your computer
remember where you saved it
and add it to your blog.

Send: between 5 and 20 Vintage Sheet Fat Quarters.(18"x21") to me and I will then send you back the same amount of different Fat Quarters as you sent. ***EDITED:Please use at least TWO different sheets, we like variety. No sheets newer than the 80's, no character sheets and lets stick with cotton.  Also, make sure to wash the sheets and pick sheets that are not too worn out.
Please attach a note of some kind with your full name, address, email address and how many FQ's you sent, this helps me keep organized.****
Please, send  a return envelope with postage attached.  Here is my suggestion: get one of the flat rate envelops the postage is about $4.95 and you can stuff it full:)
There were a few people who had their sheets tied with tags that had their name and blog address, I love this idea, that way you might get some new blog readers... not mandatory though.

Sign ups start today and end on Feb. 1st or when there are 50 participants.

To sign up: leave a comment on this post, making sure to give me your full name and email address. I will then send you an email confirmation.

Send by date: From confirmation of sign ups through Feb. 10th.

I will then send out your New fat quarters by Feb. 20th

Vintage Sheet Swap- Update

Hey all you swappers, I have not forgotten about our swap. Actually, I should have them all in the mail by Tuesday:) Yeah!
I have them all sorted out and ready to be packaged up to head to their new homes.
Here are a couple pictures!

Align Center
This is my dining room, which we have used maybe half a dozen times since we have lived here. The rest of the time, the pocket door is closed to keep kitty cats off the table! I have been using it for my quilt basting area, because the floor stays clean and after i moved the dinning table over a few feet, I have a nice big place to baste quilts.

This picture is of all the sorted Fq's waiting to get packaged and sent.

A close up of some of the FQ's:)

This has been a really fun swap and I may host one again in the future!
Happy Saturday!

A Special Very Gift

On Friday I received a very special gift for Baby girl. It is from a group of ladies I swap FQ's with every couple of months. Each lady supplied a FQ(fat quarter) and our group leader Marilyn sewed them all into this lovely quilt.

I was so thrilled to receive something so very lovely and handmade.
I rarely receive handmade gifts, so this was extra special.
Plus Marilyn made it shabby chic with roses because she knows how much I love them:)

A Close up.
Click on the pictures so you can get a better look at the detail, she hand quilted it!

The other cool thing is these ladies and I have become friends through our swapping but have never met in person. Two of the ladies live about 30 minutes from our old home town of Napa, CA. When we get back, I plan to meet up with them for a quilt store trip!

The back

A rose close up, love this technique, and think it would be adorable to make these roses for accenting onesies or other clothes.

In a day or two I will be posting photos of other gifts I have received for baby girl.

Vintage Sheet Swap-Update

I am still waiting on about ten sets of FQ's to arrive for the swap. If you haven't sent yours yet, please let me know when to expect them.

It has been really fun to see all the different types of vintage sheets that have come in so far. Everyone has packaged their FQ's up nicely and a lot of you were very clever and sent a postage paid envelope for return shipping. Such a great idea!

A lot of you have also included little goodies for me, which I love. Thank You.
As soon as I receive the last few I will get them back to you in the mail.

Once you receive your FQ's back and make something out of them, I would love to see, so drop me a comment of email.

Have a great night!

Happy Mail

Last week I had a full mailbox. I received the fabric for the baby's bedding, and the lovely items below.

I participate in a quarterly fat quarter swap, the theme this time was spring. My partner knows I love roses. I love everything.

I also received this just in time for Easter. I won it in a giveaway. The funny thing is it was on the blog of one of my friends from Napa. Lisa makes amazing scrapbooks check her blog out here.

Time for knitting and relaxing.
Have a good evening.

Be Mine-Vintage Valentine Swap

I have had a bit of writers block lately so that is the reason I haven't posted much this week. Usually I have so many ideas swimming around in my head I can never get to them all. It must be my prego brain:)

Here are pictures of the Be Mine Vintage Valentine Swap- that my partner and I sent to each other. My partner was April, and I love all the fun goodies she sent me.

She altered this lovely heart box and it was filled with all the goodies!

She made all these lovely items. The birds are my fave!! The jumbo clip is all ready in use too!

All the goodies! We used the cookie cutters the other day. I love the pad of paper, I was in need of a new pad. I painted Gabs nails last night, and she loved the colors of the polish. Can't wait to use all the crafting goodies!
She sent these goodies for the kidos. And the cute ornament was a hostess gift for the Vintage Pink Christmas Swap! SO sweet of her!

Here are the goodies I sent. I made the love heart and altered the chocolate box. I also made the container out of vintage sheet music.

All the goodies in the box!

This is the rest of the goodies I sent her. I got the vintage table cloth ages ago at an estate sale, I have two more:)

I am taking a swap break for a while, I did too many in to short of a time and I think I am swapped out. Easter may tempt me to do one though:)

Have a Hvintappy Valentine Day!

Snow Flakes and Sparkles Swap

Yes, I am finally blogging about the last swap I completed in December! Holly was the hostess for this swap and my partner was Melissa. We had such fun getting to know each other. Melissa has four girls and two of the four are the same ages as my girls so we decided to let the girls swap too. My girls loved it, they each made something for their partner and made a sweet card.

On to the pictures!

She sent me this vintage sweater clip, it is so pretty! I LOVE IT!

Melissa made me these darling Christmas towels, I love that they look like ticking.

She also made this lovely heirloom baby blanket, my first gift for this baby. Can't wait to use it, it is so pretty.

All the other goodies she sent me.

Gwen with the purse her partner made her.

They made graham a bag too so he wouldn't feel left out. He carries all his hot wheels around in it every day!

Gab's darling purse from her partner. I was so impressed that a 11 year old made this!

A vintage sheet music ornament I made for Melissa.

All of the goodies I sent her. I made the tree and the dove and in the clear bag, I made vintage feedsac magnets.

Items from the girls to their partners. Gwen made the dog and gabby knitted a neck warmer for her partner. We also made homemade marshmallows.

We all had so much fun with this swap!
