Weight Loss Wed.

Well, yesterday I remembered it was WLW today.  Apparently today I forgot.... oops.
Nothing new to report anyway.  This week is going to be the last WLW for a bit, just too busy and annoyed with the super slow to no progress.  Ladies feel free to continue posting your wlw, and I may start back up in a month or so when school is out and things are a bit less crazy.

Weight Loss Wed.

So, this week I have nothing to report in the weight loss dept., I am exactly the same.  I can report that I did hot yoga once last week and oh my goodness... it is hot. My clothes were so soaked with sweat I could wring them out.  I did not love it, actually felt like barfing the whole time! However, I plan to do it once this week as well, I paid for a month trial so need to go a few more times to get my moneys worth.

Hope everyone had a great week, go check out the other participants and cheer them on!

Weight Loss Wed.

I have been so crazy busy I actually had no idea it was Wed all ready!  sheesh
I can report that I lost 1 pound..... woooo hoooo  now to keep it off and lose some more is the next trick.  Yesterday, I ran while Graham rode his scooter for 20 minutes, than swam in the pool for 30 minutes, need to do that again for sure!

Check in with the others to see how they did this week and if you would like to join us, just drop me an email or link up with mr linky!

Weight Loss Wednesdays

So, this week I have decided to NOT weigh myself!  Why? you ask... Because I don't like it, I don't feel like there has been a change either way again so I am going to wait until next week.  I know the problem is I need to exercise more and eat less goodies:(  Simple right? ... not so much!  It is hard to squeeze in exercise with four kids when you have a husband who has to travel for work all the time.  And I love my dessert, I try to curb it by drinking hot chocolate, which helps most of the time.  I did swim in my pool this week, and I tried to really kick a lot and use my arms to make it a work out, will be trying this more as the weather is nicer.. ugly out today:(

Would love to have you join us, so drop me an email or add you link to mr linky and get support from all the lovely participants!
Have a great week!

Weight Loss Wed.

Going into the weekend I was feeling good and had lost half a pound. after the weekend I was up a pound and now I am back to where I was last week.  I got one walk in, did my normal 2 yoga classes and m one dance class. No big plans for the weekend that involve eating and drinking so that should help this week.  All these social activities are killing me!  The exercise is helping though, things are feeling a tiny bit less jiggly!

If you want to join us, email me and I will add you to the weekly email list and add your link to mr linky. Everyone is welcome, weather you want to lose 5lbs or 50lbs.

Make sure to pop into the other participants and see how they are doing and cheer them along!

Weight Loss Wed.

Easter is not the best time for diets...   especially if you are a chocoholic like moi!  That being said I can report that I have lost another half of a pound...
I feel ok about this because the only exercise I got was 12 minutes jogging on my MIL's treadmill(then I got bored) and dance last night.I have had my fair share of easter treats:( Can't help myself.  This week will be better for exercise  unless I get sick...  not feeling great sore throat! UGGG  Hoping it is just an allergy sore throat!

If you want to join us, email me and I will add you to the weekly email list and add your link to mr linky. Everyone is welcome, weather you want to lose 5lbs or 50lbs.

Weight Loss Wed.

Today's Weight Loss Wed is brought to you from Oregon... We are visiting my in laws.  I can not report if I have lost or gained with out my scale, so I will just report that I got a lot of exercise in last week.  I got 3 walks in, taught yoga twice, tap and ballet once, just dance twice.  Some days I was really good about food, other days I was bad.  So check back next week to see if I have actually lost some weight finally. I plan to do the tread mill a couple times while I am here as my mother in law has one:)

If you want to join us, email me and I will add you to the weekly email list and add your link to mr linky. Everyone is welcome, weather you want to lose 5lbs or 50lbs.

Make sure to pop into the other participants and see how they are doing and cheer them along!

Weight Loss Wednesdays

Another week gone by and what do I have to report?  A half a pound loss.  Not as much as I had hoped, but better than nothing right?  I feel pretty good, because I can tell a difference in my tummy, it is looking a bit less jiggly and I lost a 1/2 an inch off my waist. Still have 15 pounds to lose, I can't wait for that number to change.
Did yoga twice, walked once, and did dance.  Hope to do even more exercise this week.

If you want to join us, email me and I will add you to the weekly email list or just add your link to mr linky. Everyone is welcome, weather you want to lose 5lbs or 50lbs.

Weight Loss Wednesdays

What do I have to report this week.... NADA.  No change once again, are we bored yet!  I am so over it!
I can report that I taught yoga Fri, Walked yesterday and today and Danced tonight.  I have plans with my friend Tiffanie to walk tomorrow, yoga on Fri and Sun,  Sat running around like a crazy person for Gwen's Alice in Wonderland party... Maybe this will help... PLEASE!!!  Tiffanie and I are on a mission, we realized the pool season is starting soon(almost 80 today) and I have a pool in my yard now, so I need to be able to wear a swim suit and not feel like a flabby, jiggly HIPPO!  So we are going to walk as many days out of the week as we can. Hopefully at least three days!

If you want to join us, email me and I will add you to the weekly email list or just add your link to mr linky. Everyone is welcome, weather you want to lose 5lbs or 50lbs.

Make sure to pop into the other participants and see how they are doing and cheer them along!
Have a great week, and keep your fingers crossed that I can finally see some progress next week!

Weight Loss Wed.

I can finally report .... that I lost a pound.  However, my hopes of keeping it off are not so good.  It is my birthday this weekend, and I have dinner and drink plans Fri night, lunch with my fam Saturday,Sat night a going away party for a good friend, and Sun off to the Alameda Flea Market with other friends.  All involve food!

We have a few participants from the UK and they are always talking about loosing a stone, which I had no idea what a stone actually equaled.  So I finally asked and 1 stone =14 pounds. So we can all be in the know:)

This week I am doing WLW a bit differently.  I am adding a Mr. Linky for everyone to add their posts to.  So once you have written your post come back and enter your link.

If you want to join us, email me and I will add you to the weekly email list. Everyone is welcome, weather you want to lose 5lbs or 50lbs.

Weight Loss Wed.

I am seriously getting tired of reporting the same thing week after week!  No change again!  Have been sick this week and have not done one bit of exercise because of it.  Did better with drinking milk his week, not so good on the water though.

Here are some fitness myths from calorie count.

Fitness Myth 1: No Pain, No Gain

Exercise does not need to hurt to be good for you. In fact, if it does hurt you’re probably doing something wrong. Some soreness is common for a first time exerciser, but if that continues, you are pushing way too hard. Delayed onset muscle soreness, in which pain occurs up to 48 hours after exercise, results from inflammation and microscopic tears in the elastic tissues that surround muscle fibers. To give muscles time to adapt, don’t do much too soon, or you will risk injury.

Fitness Myth 2: Excessive Sweating While Exercising Means You’re Not Fit

In fact, it's just the opposite. Sweating during exercise is a sign of an efficient cooler. An athlete who has adapted to keep the body core cool during exercise will shunt blood to the skin’s surface more quickly and release heat from the body. At the same time, the sweat glands increase their output and thus cool the body during sweat evaporation. While fit people produce more sweat than sedentary folks, they lose less sodium, because more of it is reabsorbed by the body. The result is a more efficient cooler.

Fitness Myth 3: If You Stop Exercising, Your Muscles Will Turn to Fat

Fat and muscles are two different tissue types. One can not convert to the other. The truth is that muscles atrophy when not used. Therefore, if you continue to eat as you always have, but stop exercising, you will see an increase in body fat and a loss of muscle mass. Of course, the real question is why are you stopping exercise in the first place?

Fitness Myth 4: You Can Increase Fat Burning By Exercising Longer at a Lower Intensity

It really isn't important what percentage of energy during exercise comes from fat or carbohydrate. What matters at the end of the day is how many total calories were expended. The higher the exercise intensity, the more calories are burned per minute. Many new exercisers, however, are encouraged to exercise at a lower intensity because high-intensity exercise is difficult to sustain, and safer. Read More: Energy for Exercise

Fitness Myth 5: If You Exercise, You Can Eat Anything

If you try to make up for poor nutrition by exercising, you are going to be disappointed. While eating poorly and not exercising is far worse for your health that eating poorly and exercising, you will get the most out of your workouts if you fuel them with high quality foods.

Fitness Myth 6: If You Don't Work Out Hard and Often, Exercise Is A Waste Of Time

Nothing could be farther from the truth. Research shows that even moderate exercise, such as walking and gardening a few times a week, can have tremendous benefits. One study found that gardening for as little as an hour a week reduced the risk of heart disease.

Fitness Myth 7: Exercise Can Fix All Your Health Problems

While consistent exercise can make a huge difference in quality and quantity of life, it can't fix everything. Individuals with other health issues and diseases still need to follow a physician's advice when it comes to disease management protocols. And although exercise alone can not guarantee your health, or cure you of illness, regular physical activity has been shown to help everything from arthritis and heart disease to asthma and diabetes.

Fitness Myth 8: Weight Training Will Bulk You Up

Many women use this excuse to avoid weight training. What they don't realize it that weight training is often the easiest and quickest way for women to lose body fat and increase muscle definition.

Fitness Myth 9: To Build Muscle Requires Massive Amounts of Protein

There is no scientific evidence supporting the popular belief that athletes require massive amounts of protein. According to Dr. Suzanne Nelson Steen, head of the University of Washington Huskies Sports Nutrition Program, strength athletes require just slightly more protein than other individuals and still need adequate carbohydrate to replenish muscle glycogen. She points out that all high intensity, powerful muscle contractions (such as weight lifting) are fueled with carbohydrate. "Neither fat nor protein can be oxidized rapidly enough to meet the demands of high-intensity exercise. Adequate dietary carbohydrate must be consumed on a daily basis to restore glycogen levels." To build more muscles, you simply have to follow a good weight training program and eat a well balanced diet consistently. Read More: How to Feed Your Muscles.

Fitness Myth 10: The More Exercise The Better

Of course you can get too much exercise. Many top athletes give in to this myth, and many pay the price with injury, illness and depression. When it comes to exercise, you need an appropriate balance of training and rest in order to perform optimally

Weight Loss Wed.

I had a pretty decent week, I lost the pound and a half I gained last week, so still back to being stuck here with about 15lbs to loose!  On Sat I was helping out at a crab feed and drank a few glasses of wine and on Sunday I was at my neighbors house for stupid bowl and had 2 white russians, I am thinking I could have done even better if I had not drank all that. Oh well, it was fun:)

I did ok on my goals: I got one walk in(in addition to teaching one yoga class and 1.5hrs of tap and ballet), I drank some water, I drank milk about every other day, and I ate a bit less. I did not get to bed earlier...ugg

Goals for this week: drink milk every day, more fiber, more walks, 1 additional serving of fruits or veggies a day and more water.

I am trying to create small goals, because it seems easier to stick with that way.

Weight Loss Wed.

This week I should title it weight GAIN Wed. ... ugg. Yes, I gained this week a pound and a half.  I am not surprised after all the eating and drinking we did this weekend.  I need to find some low cal snacks, because I am hungry all the time... maybe because I am nursing or maybe I am just a piggy.  Either way, something needs to change.  I also drank a bunch of diet coke over the weekend:(

Goals for the week: DRINK lots of h2O
Drink a glass of milk each day as t he calcium is supposed to help with weight loss.
                              EAT LESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  smaller portions
Try... this is a hard one... to go to bed earlier.
                              Walk

Weight Loss Wed.

Sorry my post is so late today.. it has been a crazy day!  Spent most of the day at the Dr.'s.  I had to go for a ear infection, Gab had to go because she was feeling yucky and Chad has a serious infection in his arm, so we are pretty much a mess.

I am a bit discouraged this week.. still THE SAME.  I actually though I was going to gain because I have been pigging out and didn't teach yoga on Sun because of the ear thing.

The big question is what the heck am I going to do to kick things up a notch.  Not sure, I know I need to step up the exercise and eat a whole lot less.  Still no luck with a piece of exercise equiptment. I am thinking about getting one of the exercise programs that go with the wii fit, I have heard they are a great work out.

I am trying to count calories and that has me in reality check... I was eating too much!

This weekend is our trip to the cost with the family and I know we will be eating yummy food and there will be some festive adult beverages consumed!  It finally stopped raining ... maybe I can get some walks in!

Weight Loss Wed.

At the rate I am now losing weight it will take me 6 months to lose the last 14.5 pounds.  This week I stayed the same ugg.  The weather has been horrid so no walking. I am trying to find a cheap or free elliptical, bike or tread mill so I can get serious.

I have been pretty good about the diet coke... only 2 all week.
I need to drink  MORE water... why is it so hard to remember to drink water?
Yoga and dance are good, helping me maintain.

Weight Loss Wed.

Welcome to this weeks addition of WLW.  I had an oK week... I lost 1/2 a pound.  Probably would have lost more had there not been birthday cake and ice cream in the house for Grahams birthday. I have no willpower when it comes to sweets:(
I didn't get my extra walk in this week, too busy with Grahams birthday. Now the weather is yucky so we shall see if I can get a walk in this week.
I did drink more water, I ate more veggies and I ate more fiber.  Happy with that.
14.5 pounds to Goal
7 pounds to pre pregnancy weight.
I am pretty happy with my progress... however this last bit of weight is always the hardest to lose.  Then once the weight is gone  toning up is required!!!
Knowing I have to report in every Wed. keeps me motivated:)

Weight Loss Wed.

This is the first WLW of the new year, time to set some new goals.
Lose last 15 pounds
Eat more fruits and Veggies
Eat less sweets.... way to may were eaten the last few weeks.
Try to get two walks per week... in addition to my yoga and dance class.
Give up diet coke AGAIN... that will have to be a post all its own.
This week was a BAD food week for me.
Exercise so/so .... dance and yoga.
Weight loss: NONE
Weight gain: NONE
My tips for weighing in each week:
Always weigh in first thing in the AM
Right after you go to the bathroom
Make sure you are NAKED
and if you happen to be breast feeding like me... feed that baby first.
Do Not weigh in:
In the evening...yikes 2-3 pounds heavier
eat or drink anything before weighing in
do not get on the scale with wet hair

Weight Loss Wed.... a day early

Yes, it is a day early... but tomorrow I have a very special post... so stay tuned:)
Well not much to report on the weight loss front, still the same. Which I suppose is ok.
Not much to report on the exercise front either.
Pretty boring post so far!
The number of ladies participating is less and less as everyone gets busier with the holidays. Plus the last thing you want to do is count calories right now.
I am confident that we will all be ready to get back in the swing of things after the first of the year.
