Dresser ..After
Here is my freebie dresser from the other day....all re painted. I left the blue because I like the color, and re painted the knobs a Martha color in a lighter shade of blue..and a fresh coat of white on the rest...total cost zero!!! Its in my new room..waiting to receive clothes.
After & Before
This is the big girls room after we painted it...the other three walls are grey...its pretty bright but really cute....and this is before I take down all the mirrors and frames so we can move. I sprayed all the mirrors and frames antique white..so they are an after as well. The frames were originally gold. Ok, back to packing.

Who Does Painting Projects..When They Should Be Packing?
If you guessed me...you were right...
I went to michaels yesterday and found magnetic paint in Martha's new paint line....I really wanted to use magnetic paint for Scarlette's whole fridge on the play kitchen we made her...but it is $25 a quart.... which is almost as much as we have spent on whole project...but when I found it yesterday for $4.99 for a small container I decided to make her menu board magnetic...
I will reveal whole kitchen when we are completely done..still adding finishing touches. Going to paint the frame in picture....any thoughts on color?
Packing time:)

Before & After & a Question.
Something I swore I would never hang on my walls...... and now I have. That being said I foo fooed them up a bit. I have seen antlers all over the place and when I was at the Flea market a couple of weekends ago, I saw a pink pair... so I knew that when I got a pair... they too would be pink. My friend Darian knew I wanted some, and her Dad happened to have quite a few... so he donated these to me. Pretty sure there will be some hunters cringing over this:)
BEFORE
And......
AFTER... A light coat of pink spray paint!!
I can not wait for another holiday so I can hang ornaments from them... How cute will that be... EEEK
I feel like they need something still.... mounted on a plaque? Cover the head part with fabric?
So my question is.... Leave them as is or....... what do you think they need???

Before and After-Spice Rack
I bought this darling spice rack at an Estate Sale quite a while ago... and finally have a place for it in the new house. But, all my spice jars are plastic and UGLY. TIME for A make over.....
BEFORE
Jars purchased at Cost Plus- Only 99cents each and they have a shaker lid and a stainless screw on lid.
After
My new kitchen has red and white floors... so I am trying to tie red in with my pink and Aqua.
I sprayed the stainless lids red, then I taped off a rectangle and painted chalk board paint on the front, so we can label each one. I want to get a white chalk pen because they have a nice fine point and stay on a bit better than regular chalk. I have a pink one but it is bright pink... doesn't go at all.
A quick and easy fix for my ugly spice containers.

Clean Start-Home Makeover-Napa
We finished the home make over, and here are some picture taken by Indra... you can also read her blog post with all the details.
Here is the family room before....

In Progress.

Me with the lamps.

Getting things ready to put the room together, I am putting a cord cover on the chain of the hanging light.

After... My favorite thing is the blue table, it turned out so cute. It was pretty ugly before it was painted:)

Another view of Before....

After:)
I made the three large pillows and the small toile one:)
On to the kids room:

Before...

After.

Before...

After.
I made the duvet cover, the curtains and curtains for the closet as there were no doors.

I whipped up the curtain tie backs on the spot as we were putting the room together.
It was a fun project and the family seemed to really appreciate it.
There are a ton more photos on Indra's blog... go check them out.

I Hate Onesies.....A Solution
Why you ask? I guess the main reason is I just hate the look of a onesie tucked into jeans. It also makes diaper changes more of a pain. I decided to turn some onesies into shirts for Scarlette.
I Just use my handy dandy rotary cutter and cut straight across right above the leg holes.
Took this photo after I added some vintage crocheted lace to the bottom
I then used material from the part I cut off and ruffled it up into a flower of sorts. SOOO much cuter!
Finished product.
No befores on these.. They were both onesies though:) and now they are cute little tops to wear with jeans.
This one might be my fave!
If you hate onesies too, then hack um up. I suggest doing this to the next size up from what your child is wearing, that way you have extra length to work with.

The Cause of My Blog Neglect...
If I had to describe in one word why I have been such a bad blogger the last month or so...it would be ...Over Committed. I guess that is two words... ha ha. Maybe overwhelmed is a better word. I think about blogging every day, I have so many photos and things to blog about...the photos all need editing which takes a bit of time, so then I put it off another day. Not to mention that my shoppe is neglected again and when I neglect it and don't advertise it sales get slow:(
Kids have all been sick for about a month... the never ending cough.. Chad has had it too and I have had a touch of it a couple of times.. I have taken my Mega doses of Vitamin C and echinacea and kept it to two smallish colds.Echinacea is the BEST... you have to do the nasty liquid though...as much as the kids hate the taste they now ask for it as soon as they start to feel sick.
Graham is in a co-op preschool.. which means lots of time on my part. Since he started school in Sept, I have worked in his class twice.... which requires me to find a baby sitter who can watch Scarlette from 11:45-4pm and people to pick up the big girls at school. I have been to two parent meetings which go from 7-9pm. I have volunteered to face paint at the fall frolic this Sunday. I am on the fundraiser committee...haven't had to do much for that yet, but I see it coming as the auction gets closer. His school is amazing and all the work is worth it.
I decided to make a sewing room..... Our dining table was always covered with sewing stuff so we could never eat at it, which was fine during the summer because we sat outside. Now that we are heading into the winter months that will not be an option. So.. with the help of my friend Tiffanie... we moved the dining table into the middle of the living room and curtained off the dinning room...et voila... a sewing room was born. It was a bit more complicated than that... We moved 2 china hutches, a computer hutch, a buffet, a small cabinet, a large TV armoire, a vintage sofa and a few chairs, a small book shelf, a small desk and some other small random pieces of furniture. Here are some after pictures... didn't take befores. I kept waiting to take the pictures until it all looked perfect.... well... let's be real... my house is Never perfect.
The old dining room is behind the curtain. No pictures of that room yet... to to to messy at the moment.
I went to ikea and purchased one of their wire curtain thingies and found the muslin fabric for 2.99 a yard which was perfect since I needed 12 yards. The buffet with all the Halloween goodies on it was in the dining room on the right wall, and the table and chairs were turned the other way in the middle of the old room.
Try to ignore the dinner place mats and random silverware on the table and the chair askew.. see not perfect.
The china cabinet to the left of the fireplace was on the back wall of the dining room parallel to where the buffet is now. In its place was the huge tv armoire, which is now in the buffet's old place in the dining room being used for storage. The china hutch to the right of the fire place was in the family room.
Ignore piles of crap next to buffet. Projects.
All decorated for Halloween:) See the room to the right of the hutch... that is my family room.. it got rearranged too.
I have a part time job... Working Fri and Sat at Alice's Consignment shop.. there are a ton of vintage items...and Alice tells me to do what I want.... rearrange the shop to my liking.. soo fun.
I pulled my hamstring muscle in dance class 2 weeks ago and it still is killing me. The first two days I could hardly walk.. One word ....OLD... Yikes.
I met a lovely girl at the last flea market I did.. she is a local photographer / interior designer. I told her "someday when I grow up that I want to be an interior designer." She thought that was funny. Why I said that was because she was talking to another lady about a project she started called Clean Start... She is making over a home for a local needy family. As if I needed one more thing to do..... I said oooh I would love to help... and I sew. She got in touch with me and said I have a great eye and would I like to be involved in the whole project and learn more about interior design.... Ummm YESSSS! We went to the family's house and took measurements and made plans. So exciting. Here is a link to the fundraiser for the project and her blog/site.
I also am helping with art in Gwen's class on Friday's before I go to work. It is her last year of elementary school, so I want to do as much as possible.I am co-room mom and going to chair the sees candy fundraiser so the kids can pay for their own out door ed.
Between me and the girls we are at the dance studio tue, wed, and thurs nights. I am also there on Sunday teaching Yoga.
Gabby has rainbow girls twice a month and Gwen is in the pledge group for Rainbow as she is not old enough yet. On Monday she is getting installed into the leader position. Which I had to make invites for..... making 25 felt lollipop pin ons for the guests to go with her theme which is "Sweet Dreams Under the Big top"
I am in 3 online quilting bee's and am soooo behind, I owe about 5 people a quilt block. I just haven't had time to sew much. Which is always on the back of my mind because I think about sewing daily as well.
It is now 12:30 at night and I need to go to bed.... need to wade through the laundry on my bedroom floor (as there is no room in the crazy small laundry room to put sorter baskets with laundry) to get to my bed.
If I owe you something... I am sorry it is late, I am working on it.
The end....

I sprayed them black and we are going to hang them in the girls room above their nightstands. Should be cute with their black and white comforters. Someday you may actually get to see them in their room:)

Start of Something Fun....
Just have to say I love the new photo uploader.... so much easier! woo hoo
We have a pretty great back yard at this house, big patio, pool and wooden play structure for kids, raised bed for garden-which we planted over the weekend. .... that being said it is not very pretty at the moment.
Chad has been working really hard pruning all the trees and bushes removing weeds etc. We have a super ugly metal storage shed that need to be painted or hidden some how.
So I made a back yard wish list and decided to get started with some of the things I could do myself.
We have a ton of vintage wooden mix and match chairs and I decided to paint them each a different color to put around our table outside.
Was so excited to get painting I almost forgot to take a before picture! Better take some of the yard too!
We got this chair for free, Chad spotted it on the side of the road!
I got a can of aqua rustoleum and a can of clear varnish type stuff ..
And voila it is soooo perfect!
Can't wait to paint the next one, Chad is bringing one home from OR from Grandmas house...... Maybe Candy apple RED!!!!

I Actually MADE Something & A Before & After
Yippeee... I finally finished a few projects. I just now have had the time to settle down and work on some projects... unpacking, the holidays and Graham's bday kept me busy until now.
I whipped this hat up pretty quickly. Originally I started making it for me, then Gabby decided she wanted it...until I added the flower. So now it is miss Gwen's It is not quite big enough for me anyway.
I will be making one for me soon, I need to get some yummy cream yarn or soft grey.
Gabby Modeling it for me.
I started this hat in NC quite a few months ago... I think even before Scarlette was born. It is still a bit big for her. This is a pattern from the book Vintage baby knits... someone on line has it posted for free though. Don't know where because all of my bookmarks are trapped on my laptop!
BEFORE & AFTER
This is a picture of part of my dining room, these are the curtains that came with the house. Nothing wrong with them other than they were hung too high and they are soooo dark(brown), they look so weird with my light colored decor.
Voila~
New curtains.
I used drop cloths to make these, and I LOVE them. I have seen tons of people online using drop cloths for all kinds of home decor projects and had to jump on the band wagon. Such an in-expensive way to get pretty curtains.... and if you get sick of them someday, you can always use them as actual drop cloths:)
I have two more of these huge windows in the living room which is connected to the dining room and am going to make these curtains for those windows too. I can't wait to get my new/vintage dinning room table sanded and painted, it will look soooo perfect in here.
So many projects.... so little time.
