I just finished this knitted hat and have made a few others for gifts, so many babies this year!
I saw flannel blankets with crocheted edging and fell in love. Not only are they pretty, but it gives the blankets such an old fashioned look. I used a combo of this tutorial and this one. I am not a crocheter, before today I only knew how to make a long chain. Aren't tutorials great.
If you click on the picture you can see the details better.
I am so proud of myself for finally attempting crochet, I have been intimidated by it and shy away from it.
Miss Gwen asked me if I like to make girl stuff and I said "yes, especially after all the boy stuff I have made for the last few years."
Other things baby I have been thinking about:
Cloth Diapers, I never thought in a million years I would even consider them. They have come such a long way, there are so many options it is overwhelming. I have received some good advice from my sisters friend Alice. I love that they are better for the environment and chemical free, so better for baby.
Double Strollers: Have to have one of these, they two have come along way since the girls were little. However, some of them are still huge and heavy. I am thinking about getting a side by side because it will fit better in my car and they seem to be lighter for the most part. I just want one that is perfect and that doesn't seem to exist.
Nursery: Graham and the baby will be sharing a room. His room is big, but has two weird off center windows that throw everything off. Which is making it hard for me to imagine where I will put furniture. The baby will be in our room for awhile, until it is sleeping long enough that it will not wake Graham up. Maybe by the time the baby is ready to share, Graham will be ready to go into his toddler bed. We shall see.
MARCH 9th: As it gets closer I get more impatient awaiting the day to see my last baby. And to find out if we are having another boy or girl. Gabby and Gwen are going with us for this appointment, which I think will be really special for them.
NAMES: Every time I think we have a couple we like, we change our minds. It will help to know if we are having a boy or a girl, we can cut the task in half that way. Chad is still anti G name for number 4... ugg.

I love the hat! And I am so envious, I crochet but not so good at knitting. I also love the baby blanket with the crochet edging. Think I'll steal this idea, if that's ok. Going to be making some baby blankets soon. Cloth diapers are more work, but they are so much better, I agree.
Loving that hat!
I have the bobby stroller and it was the best purchase I ever made. The double one you know? I got an ornage one and had someone make a custom linging for it with michael miller vintage pirate fabric. Its a show stopper and its HEAVEn to wheel around!!!
I have to tell you that I too have shied away from crochet - but recently picked it back up since I saw something I wanted to do! And, I'm liking it! who knew? There's an older lady where I work that showed me what the stitches should look like - I wanted to crochet into everything b/c I thought everything was a stitch. Boy, it looks so much better when I know what it should look like!
