More Books Finished

I finished reading a couple of books:
First one was "Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin
It took me a bit to get into this book, but once I did I had a hard time putting it down.
It is a very inspirational story of what one man can accomplish. It gave me a more realistic look into life in Pakistan and Afghanistan, which makes you feel soooo grateful for life here in the good ol USA. BTW- this is a non fiction book, which I normally don't read, but it was so worth it.

Second was: Finger Lickin Fifteen by Janet Evanovich.
The latest book in the Stephanie Plum Series. Hilarious as usual, I was laughing so hard at one point, I thought I would wake Chad up because I was shaking the bed.

My book stack is non existent, WOULD really love some recommendations!!!

Have a great day!

Three of my favorite books are The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, The Postman Always Rings Twice by James Cain, and Making It Up by Penelope Lively. The first two are classics I am sure you have read at some point, but I still love them. The last one I found at Borders on sale last summer and couldn't put it down. It's a short book, but a delight to read. I also just finished The Diary of Mattie Spenser by Sandra Dallas. Sandra didn't really write it, she found this old lady's diary and typed it up for her neighbor. It was a great read. Another I couldn't put down! Hope this helps!!

One of my favorite books is by Laurie Notaro, There's a slight chance I might go to hell. It is so funny and I finished it within a few days. Its about a woman that moves with her husband to a small town and she enters a beauty pagent in hopes of meeting new friends. She ends up meeting a former pagent queen and learns the secrets of the small town. Hope this helps!

I LOVED Three Cups of Tea! That was one of the best books I've read in a very long time. It was so inspirational--didn't it just make you want to go out and do some GOOD in the world? Great story.

I just finished The Historian but I hated it. It was too long & boring! I've also been reading Mary Kay Andrews' books. They're perfect summer reads--light and fast and fun. The two with Savannah in the title are fun because one of the characters is a junker and antiques picker--I think you'd really enjoy them!

Oh, I love Janet. That's been the only fiction I've read the last few years. I'm on her Fearless Fourteen one right now. I often just read nonfiction on my love of altered art more than fiction. That Lula must be a riot to know, eh?

How funny. . .I am a HUGE Janet Evanovich fan. I have 15, but I haven't started it yet. . .I know once I do I won't do anything else until I finish it!
