Potty Training at 16months????

I  read a bit about elimination communication when Scarlette was brand new.  Thought it was an interesting concept.. but thought no way do I have time for that.  In a weird way we are doing it slash potty training. Ever since this little angel started to eat her homemade baby food, she became constipated.  I have talked to the Dr. about it and she wanted to put her on some medicine. Neither Chad or I liked that idea. So we feed this kid every high fiber item we can get her to eat.  Fortunately she is not picky.  It has helped some but it is still a strain each time she goes.  Poor baby.

A few weeks back I decided to start listening to her poop ques and began putting her on the toilet. Low and behold it was easier for her in the sitting position with out a diaper on. She has not pooped in her diaper for weeks now. At first I thought it was just luck or a fluke, but she gets it.  If you mention potty or poo poo, she pats her diaper.Sometimes unprompted she will pat her diaper and I run her to the potty. She actually went pee on the potty today... we shall see if that progresses as well. One day when I came home from work I asked her if she went poo poo on the potty for Daddy and she patted her diaper and went running to the bath room door and knocked on it.

At Thanksgiving.

Crossing my fingers that she does not revert at some point.  The good news is she is not the least bit afraid of the toilet.. big or small... which often times they are. I have heard people talk about how their baby was potty trained at 18 months and I always thought HOW is that possible.  The girls were both two and Graham was just under 2.5yrs. Trying not to get to excited about it but by would it be nice to not have to change diapers or pay for them for that matter:)  Maybe since she is number 4, I finally figured this out??  Who knows!

Decided to change my blog style and just blog about what I have on my mind and will get caught up on family activities in the process.  So there may be multiple posts in a day.

I believe the easiest way to parent is to not sweat the small stuff. these little folks we love so much are brilliant at letting us know their needs and wants if we just listen to them!

What a great thing for you guys if your little gal is already getting it and you are wise enough to listen to her!

And, isn't she adorable!?!??!?!
