Baby Names

We have narrowed the list down to about six names we really like and only one is a "G" name, which we like but don't love. I have looked at THOUSANDS of "G" names to go with Gabrielle, Gwendolyn and Graham and not loving any of them.

I have felt huge pressure to find a "G" name from people near and far. The whole time ignoring my husband and sister who say we don't have to pick a "G" name.

I have now decided to take the pressure off us and pick a name we LOVE, even if it doesn't start with G like the other kidos. How I came to this decision: this baby is going to be special and different for a few reasons.

1. She will be the only Smith baby who was not born in CA
2. She will be the only one who doesn't have a delivery room full of family and friends
3. She is the last baby.
4. She may not have a G name like her sibs, but may have Grace for a middle name.
5. If Grace is her middle name she will be the only one who doesn't have a middle name that is a family name.

Despite all the differences we will love her and make her feel special.

I posted a poll on the right side of the blog. You can pick your favorite from our top six.

Stay tuned for my next post, I will be posting all the items I have sewn this week, all baby items. I will be adding them to the much neglected shoppe.

Happy Friday.

I think you should forget the G thing and call her whatever you want to call her. Only the Duggars are required to stick to a certain letter.

I think you shouldn't worry about the G thing either. In fact, I think it's a little bit silly when all the kids have the same first initial--too matchy-matchy or something. I voted for Avery in your poll because that is one of my favorites! That was on our LIST when Maren was born. I also love Addison!

You have three on your list that I really like but Carlos has vetoed out for Baby Girl Sanchez! :-( I like Avery, Peyton and Addison.

We kind of went through something similar. While my other kids dont have similar names (Blake & Layla), they both have H middle names (Hunter & Hope) so I wanted to find one for this baby. I couldnt find anything with an H I liked.

We decided on a family name for her, and went for Morgan, which is my husbands mothers' maiden name, and Marie for her middle name. Marie was my moms middle name and my grandmothers first name.

A friend also suggested we find a T name so we would have BLT, but that didnt work lol. We do have MLB though!

Good luck with your decision!

I didn't know before delivery if my baby was a boy or girl so I had a full list of names for a girl, and only 2 boy names. I had a boy and gave him the name that came to me in a dream when I was 4 months preg. Dylan.

I almost voted for Scarlette, but chose Avery because I know a couple of Avery girls at school and they are such sweeties.

I love Charlie, but I am sort of biased :) it is my daughter's name. We named her after her great grand father who passed away the day after she was born. Very special name to us and a very special girl.

You know how Kristina and I work... classic elegance for girl names, but like Addison far and away the best of these. It also shortens nicely and has a nice rhythm with your other girls... Gabby, Gwen and Addy, y'know?

Peyton's always going to be a quarterback and Avery's a set of mailing labels. Graceyn and Scarlette are forever going to be rolling their eyes as they tell people how to really spell their names. If you go with Scarlette, definitely drop the extra e.

This is the third time I've heard of a Charlie for a little girl...it might be "one of those trends" but I LOVE IT! Charlie gets my vote!

Scarlett for sure...it's so sweet and original! Scarlett and Grace sound great together.

Hi Sweets...been without a cmputer! We may name our next little girl Scarlett! My most favorite movie of all time is Gone with the Wind so I have always wanted to bring a GOOD Scarlett into this world to behave as Melanie did in that show but with the cool name!

I have a cool G name for you. I danced with a beauty back in college named Gentchen (jen-chen) Hope you like it.

Anyway off to play catchup on blogs now!
